Feast: St. Michael and All Angels

Today is the feast of St. Michael and All Angels.
This 17th century fresco of St. Michael the Archangel is above the sanctuary on the left wall in the Oratory of Saint Francis Xavier del Caravita, close to the Pantheon and the Via del Corso in the center of Rome.

The traditional prayer to St. Michael:
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.Amen.

In honor of this angelic feast, here are some of the Bernini designed angels on the Ponte Sant' Angelo.

I am familiar with St. Michael. My Son wore his medal while in Iraq both times.He is the patron saint of the Marines.
